*matches your laugh pretty much exactly* You sound like you only just realized it. I missed you so much. I was so worried after what mother said. That you wouldn't.... *feels her own face getting wet*
*kisses your forehead* And I missed you! I didn't know it. I didn't remember.
*can't seem to stop smiling*
I was so worried after what mother said.
*until he hears that*
*gets what is actually his old Tell-Dad-who-he-has-to-kill expression on his face* *which is a lot more like a Tell-Dad-who-he-has-to-gently-and-patiently-reprimand face, truth be told*
*shakes her head and laughs* She just said that you were mean. Which you're clearly not because you're just as soft as before. I think she was upset about something LIKE BEING PREGNANT WITH MY COUSIN'S BABY.
*sighs* Ah. Yes. Ahem. Well, when we first met, we didn't know each other and still don't and she took my...situation rather badly. We both said some things we regret now. Though I'm not sure I managed to throw out any actual insults?
*lowers his eyes* She's in a tough situation right now.
*frowns a little because she doesn't like the idea of her parents fighting* I think... from what I can tell.... she's still so very young and confused and, not to be uncharitable, but I don't think her father helps anything. Do you remember Grandfather Olwë at all?
*bites her lip* I think she's just scared and alone, really. When we talked she seemed almost... desperate... for someone to love her. If that makes any sense?
*listens* I met him here quite awhile ago, actually. I don't remember much about him, but the meeting did feature several death threats and in retrospect that seems fairly par for the course?
desperate for someone to love her
But surely her own fa--ah. I think I see what you mean. *hesitantly* I'd like to give her advice but I don't think she's especially keen to take any of it. Not that I blame her really.
*looks up at you hopefully* If she were to listen, what would you say to her? I... I've tried to help but, it's all so very surreal. She's my mother. I don't know what I'm supposed to say to her to make it all better when I want her to make it all better for me.
*carefully* I guess I'd tell her...she does have family to support her in this, like you and her uncles and I'm certain Melian and Lúthien ♥. And I'm always willing to...to listen and help her figure out how to organize things when her life gets crazy... Clearly I owe her that much, at least.
*looks back at you, smiling* But tell me about you, Findaráto. I want to know everything that's happened to you since you arrived. What do I need to make better for you, hmm?
*steps back from the door* I guess I should start by actually inviting you in? *smiles a bit*
*lets you in and then closes the door* *scoops up the dog that exists solely because of this icon and walks towards the kitchen to make tea*
My life? It's been pretty uneventful so far, really. I've only been back a few weeks. I came here and got a job and an apartment and that's the sum total of it. Until yesterday, when I ran into mother. *as an afterthought yeah right* Though I did see Uncle Nolofinwë's sons yesterday. They're back as well, but they don't stay in Delving.
*is interested to find how quickly certain things come back with just the right push* That's right. You kids were always fond of each other. How is Turukáno, anyway? *smiles at you* And Findekáno, of course?
*sets to making the tea (exactly the way you like it!)*
You kids were always fond of each other.
*manages to not blush or anything* Turgon is well, I think. He's set to ruling his own city again in the mountains like before. Gondolin? I think that keeps him fairly busy. Findekáno is... well. Pretty much the same as before. *laughs a little* Very put upon.
I've always wanted to see it myself. I'm sure Turgon would take us sometime if you'd like.
After yours
*smiles* Well, there's no Nargothrond here. I think I'd prefer a simpler life this time around. Menegroth was always more impressive anyhow.
Major relaxation problems there
*laughs* Turukáno and Írissë do nothing to help matters, but he does bring a good deal of it on himself. *carefully, as she's not sure how much you know/remember* Maitimo is here as well, staying with them. She doesn't remember anything.
*blushes* You're just saying that. *shakes her head* Nargothrond was modeled on Menegroth, after all. I was never completely happy with it. *shrugs* But it was home. I do miss it.
*frowns* I don't think that's bad of you at all. There are a lot of unhappy memories there. It's better to deal with them slowly. Later you can see him if he's around.
I'll say it is. *sets down his teacup and smiles back at you* When you're free, I'd love to show you around the city. I dare say it's changed a bit since the last time you were here.
That sounds like fun. It really does. *is all smiles now!* Hopefully it'll be soon and you and mother can get back together and everything will be like before!
