*waits until the next morning to call her cousin*

*thinks he deserves one more decent night's sleep before "BY THE WAY, THINGOL'S DECLARING WAR MAYBE"*

*not that he slept at all anyway*

*finally sits down in her office and dials Fingon's direct line*

Current Mood: gloomy

*picks up the phone after one ring* Findaráto. How bad is it?

*as cheerfully as possible* I think I've talked him out of a nuclear war for now?.

As long as we've time to evacuate the entire population of Hísilómë except for the Fëanorians, I couldn't ask for more. How are yoU? Are you safe? What about your father?

He's willing to drop the matter entirely if you just give him the Fëanorians back. I told him no, though. His idea of fair treatment is to, I quote, "slit their throats and bathe in their blood". Without a trial! So I told him that was unacceptable. It is unacceptable, right?

We're fine. Everyone here is fine. He kind of likes us, I think.

It is unnacceptable but if you'd told me this when Nelyo pitched up with her brothers, I'd have sharpened the knife for him. *sighs* I don't know what we're to do, in truth.

Right now Thingol's on hold, waiting to see what your version of "kind and usual punishment" is. I don't think he'll like it. Ultimately, though, if you don't hand them over he's declaring war. But I honestly don't see how you could hand them over. He's completely refusing a fair trial, and somehow I don't think he's going to be very impartial.

No. To hand them over would be tantamount to murder. For the time being, I propose confounding Thingol's people with a large amount of paperwork by which time, the Fëanorians will hopefully be living in someone else's kingdom under an assumed name. *grins to himself* What would Turvo say to taking in a few refugees in Ondolindë?
From: [info]artafinde Date: 08/20/2007 10:35:34

*laughs softly* Last I spoke to him, he was on his way over to yell at you for letting them stay with you at all. So you can ask him when he gets there. Just don't try and shove the middle three off on him. He doesn't much like them. [/understatement]
From: [info]skilledhero Date: 08/20/2007 10:37:40

*grins* Oh, I let them stay, did I? That's it. They're definitely going to Ondolindë. All of 'em. Except for the last two. They haven't caused any trouble yet.

The way I recall it, he says you can't think straight when Maitimo is involved and he's got to come beat sense into you. So if you see a very tall man attempting to throw punches, I wouldn't be too concerned. He hits like a girl.

The most wonderful thing about Turvo's expectations of me is that they're so low, I rarely fail to clear them. He does. Always has.
From: [info]artafinde Date: 08/21/2007 10:50:39

I guess you should talk to him when he gets to town and see what he wants to do. In the meantime I'll try to keep Thingol and his nukes at bay. Anything else?
From: [info]skilledhero Date: 08/21/2007 11:07:43

*sighs* I think that's everything, in truth. And promise me one thing? Any sign of trouble, you clear out of that city, OK?
From: [info]artafinde Date: 08/21/2007 11:12:49

I think we'll be fine, but I promise. If you think you can actually fit anymore refugees into that house.

Bye, Findekáno. Good luck.
